If you’ve always wondered

journey of a lifetime with the PADI Open Water Diver course. It will
change you forever.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you
through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a
pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water (ocean,
lake, quarry, etc.) getting the background knowledge along the way.
This course leads to the full PADI Open Water license,
recognized worldwide. |

Minimum age is 10 years. The
course takes 4 to 5 days. The standard duration is 5 days. However,
as the course is performance-based, students who progress quickly
may complete the course in 4 days (at instructor’s discretion and
with students’ agreement).
A typical course schedule is as follows:
Days 1-3: knowledge development, dives in confined water/swimming
pool to develop scuba skills, knowledge exam, swimming test (200m
using any stroke with no time limit, 10 minute float)
Days 4-5: four open water dives by boat or shore (optional dives for
extra experience may be available at Instructor’s discretion, for an
extra charge. These dives are not required for certification.) |

On completion of the
course, a PADI Open Water Diver may dive with a buddy of similar or
greater experience, under conditions as good as or better as those
in which they learned, to a maximum depth of 18m. Junior Open Water
Divers must dive with a certified parent/guardian or PADI
professional. The depth limit for 10 to 11 year olds is 12m. For 12
to 14 year olds may dive to18m. |

Scuba equipment rental is
included for all courses. A diving medical self-declaration must be
completed prior to any in-water training. In the Case of children
under 15 this must be counter-signed by a parent or guardian. PADI
course materials may be purchased by guests at home, or locally
after arrival (cost approximately

including sales tax) Certification fee of

is payable locally by the client on completion of the course. (10%
sales tax is charged on all items paid for locally). The minimum
number of students required to start a course is 2. Maximum number
of students per instructor is 6:1 |
