PADI
ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE |
|
|
 |
The PADI
Advanced Open Water Course "Adventures in Diving" program, is the
next step beyond the Open Water Certification. The aim of this
course is to expand on your knowledge and skills gained in your Open
Water Course, and to develop more confidence to broaden your diving
horizons. As you step beyond the PADI Open Water Diver level, you
make five dives and have the opportunity to try some of diving’s
most rewarding and useful specialty activities, |
|
1)Deep
Dive
Experience the excitement and wonder of what lies below 18 meters.
You will gain the experience of diving to 30 meters below the
surface. This will allow you to explore otherwise unseen sights such
as wrecks, caves and more.
2)Underwater Navigation
Ever wondered how an experienced diver finds their way around a dive
site so easily? On the Underwater Navigation dive you will learn
some of the secrets of navigation, including compass use and using
the natural environment to assist you. You will never be lost
again!! |
 |
|
 |
3)Night
Dive
Just
as the marine life changes from season to season, it also changes
from day to night. Many fish seldom seen during the day come out at
night allowing you to explore a whole new world. A big misconception
about diving at night is
that you can not see a thing! Wrong - just
as your eyes adjust to a dark room at night, they will do the same
underwater. The Night Dive is commonly regarded by divers as the
most rewarding Adventure Dive. |
|
4)Underwater Naturalist
This dive will allow you to examine the relationship between marine
creatures and their surrounding environment. You will learn to
identify some of the fish, plants and animals that you see
regularly, and how your interactions affect their behavior.
5)Wreck
Dive
Dive on some of Brisbane's most famous wrecks discovering not only
the stunning structures rising above the ocean floor but also the
amazing marine life calling these wrecks home. |

Our Advanced
Open Water Diver courses are conducted on board "Big Cat Reality", a
24 meter catamaran with wide decks and a stable dive platform. "Big
Cat" offers 2 day/2 night live aboard trips departing on Friday
evenings allowing eight to ten dives in the beautiful Moreton Bay
Marine Park, before returning Sunday afternoon. "Big Cat" is
surveyed for 225 passengers but takes only 24 divers on an
adventurous weekend with all of the diving, food and fun that you
can handle. For those who are unable to dedicate a full weekend to
the course, Go Dive offers the option of completing the required
dives over three days on our day boat, the "Straddie Explorer". |
|
Guests complete 5
Adventure Dives, and knowledge reviews. Two Adventure Dives are
